On April 20-22, the international exhibition “ECO” Expo Astana 2023 was held in Astana.
For the first time this exhibition brought together 27 domestic and foreign organic manufacturers and suppliers from Kazakhstan, Russia and Latvia, who presented organic products and services.
The exhibition included the following thematic sections:
- Food products,
- dietary supplements;
- Natural cosmetics;
- Goods for home,
- textiles;
- Practical conferences and Advisory Services;
- Ecological master classes;
- Organic farming certification.
Kazakh and international companies presented organic products in the field of beverages and food and health products. In several panel discussion were promoted the ideas of sustainable consumption and the principles of Zero Waste and of sustainable agriculture.
The Latvian Certification and Testing Center/STC, which provides organic agriculture certification services to organic farms outside the EU, including Kazakhstan, and has a significant number of clients there, participated in the exhibition.
Further took part in the panel discussions: Arsen Kerimbekov, head of the Organic Producers Union of Kazakhstan, Ilya Pampur, director of the accredited certification body
Qazaq Bio Control, and Evgeny Klimov, director of KazFOAM and the Organic Club, which are partners of the German-Kazakh Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD).
The exhibition was supported by the Ecological Union (Russia), the Association for Support and Development of Pharmaceutical Activities and the Union of Organic Manufacturers of Kazakhstan.
